#Filipp Jenikäe
Filipp Jenikäe is an emerging visual artist known for his intricate and thought-provoking works that explore the intersections of identity, memory, and human experience. With a style that blends surrealism with minimalist elements, Jenikäe's art often invites viewers to delve into the subconscious, evoking emotions through dreamlike compositions and subtle symbolism. His use of muted palettes contrasted with vibrant accents creates a sense of both tranquility and tension, highlighting themes of isolation, transformation, and introspection. Jenikäe’s work has been exhibited in contemporary galleries across Europe, gaining attention for its unique ability to merge abstract narrative with emotional resonance.
Action Bronson at la Buvette:
Paris means a lot to Jenikae. For obvious reasons: it is here, in his studio in the 20. arrondissement, where most of his artworks are created. The city of lights is also a favourite of Action Bronson: rapper, ex-chef, and connoisseur of worldly pleasures. The man who became just as famous for his flows and hedonistic lyrics as for his taste in food, art, and extravagant items has been an inspiration for Jenikae on many levels. "La Buvette," a wine bistro on the Rue St. Maur, is another Paris staple Bronson and Jenikae have in common.
#Haiyang Wang
Haiyang Wang is a contemporary artist recognized for his dynamic and surreal explorations of the human psyche. His art is characterized by bold, fluid lines and vivid colors, often blending elements of the fantastical and the grotesque to delve into themes of identity, desire, and the subconscious mind. Wang’s work is known for its ability to balance chaos and harmony, with compositions that feel both spontaneous and meticulously crafted. Drawing inspiration from traditional Chinese art and Western surrealism, he creates visual narratives that challenge conventional perceptions of reality. Haiyang Wang’s pieces have been featured in numerous international exhibitions, earning acclaim for their ability to evoke a deep sense of introspection and emotional intensity.
2008. Party in the Anus:
A farcically funny gender-fluid costumed wo/man is party-dancing in the looped video Party in the Anus (2018). The hedonism of the wig-donning wo/man in a faecal colored brown costume also takes on a maximalist note in Party in the Anus. It indulges in a kind of absurd cheer that one might find difficult to participate in or understand.
#Zdzisław Beksiński
Zdzisław Beksiński was a Polish artist renowned for his dark, dystopian surrealism that delves into the unsettling depths of human consciousness. His paintings often evoke a sense of eerie desolation, featuring decayed landscapes, twisted figures, and monumental structures that blend organic and mechanical elements. Beksiński's mastery of detail and his haunting, atmospheric compositions have left an indelible mark on modern surrealism. Despite his passing in 2005, Beksiński's work continues to captivate audiences, inviting them into a world that is simultaneously nightmarish and profoundly introspective.
Untitled:
This haunting scene depicts a surreal, decaying landscape filled with towering, skeletal columns that evoke ancient ruins or monstrous growths. A distant, monumental ziggurat-like structure rises amidst the desolation, drawing viewers into a world that feels both otherworldly and eerily abandoned.
